The GeneRAtions site features data highlights from two of the most comprehensive surveys ever conducted for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) — the GeneRAtions surveys. It also provides valuable information for people with RA, healthcare providers, and the general public to better understand the impact of the disease and the progress that has been made in understanding and managing the condition. Content includes personal stories from patients, links to informative resources, and interactive quizzes.
The GeneRAtions surveys, conducted by Manhattan Research in January and February 2008 and supported by Centocor, Inc., were fielded via online inquiries of 1,050 adults with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), 216 rheumatologists, and 91 primary care physicians specializing in the treatment of RA. The participants' responses were segmented into three groups based on "RA generations"— adults diagnosed and living with RA or physicians practicing for 10 years or less, for 11-20 years, or for 21 years or more — in order to communicate different perspectives about the disease.
This website highlights primary outcomes from both surveys and includes responses provided by all patients as a whole or all physicians as a whole, as well as patients and physicians segmented by "RA generation."
By improving public understanding about RA, people with the condition may be able to lead more active and fulfilling lives.
